There's no such thing as a bit vacuum

Everyone knows it from everyday life: A suction cup hook in the kitchen or bathroom only holds when there is no more air under the rubber suction cup. But then such a suction cup holds the hook with the power of the vacuum. Industrial and trade companies can also use the power of the vacuum in their lifting and transport projects in a way that is gentle on the material.

However, some preliminary considerations are required to find the right vacuum components, because unfortunately only a little vacuum does not hold. What material is the material to be lifted made of? What is its surface quality like? Especially in the wood and furniture industry you often have to deal with porous, open-pored material - partly also with recesses. With metal plates, for example, a distinction is made between smooth, rough or rusty or moist surfaces. It also makes a difference whether the goods to be lifted are to be lifted in the workshop or on an open-air construction site using vacuum lifting equipment and what dimensions, weight and shape the goods to be lifted have.

AERO-LIFT Vakuumtechnik from Binsdorf in Baden-Württemberg asks itself and the customer these essential questions and finds the right vacuum suction cups, suction feet including base plate and seals, vacuum hoses and vacuum pumps such as rotary vane pumps or diaphragm pumps as well as vacuum ejectors from over 3,000 vacuum components for every lifting project of its customers. Or use them to design a precisely fitting, safe vacuum system solution. Almost 30 years of experience in vacuum technology have made us specialists for every kind of lifting task using vacuum.

At the LIGNA trade fair, the world's largest leading trade fair for the wood and furniture industry in Hanover from 27.05. to 31.05.19, a portfolio of the most diverse vacuum components for the wood and furniture industry will be presented at Stand D01 in Hall 15. Whether installed in vacuum lifting devices or for a vacuum automation solution using robots: At AERO-LIFT Vakuumtechnik the customer gets exactly the vacuum components for his special lifting project. And best of all: not only is the material gently lifted using vacuum technology, but the human resource used is also relieved. For healthy and fast SUCTION, LIFTING, LOWERING, SOLUTION - with vacuum.

Some of these important vacuum components for the handling of wood are presented here:

The suction plate AL 200NR-E Ø 200 mm

It consists of a gasket and base plate. The round suction plate made of natural rubber is suitable for all standard wood handling solutions. The seal can be rolled up and holds on to the base plate due to its residual stress. It can be easily and inexpensively replaced in case of spare parts. It is preferably used for smooth and slightly rough surfaces and fast-cycle systems for the furniture industry.

Special suction plate AL 160L V+D Ø 160 mm or
250L V+D Ø 250 mm

These suction plates with separate vacuum and compressed air chambers were specially developed for porous, absorbent transport goods. The separation of thin, air-permeable chipboard, MDF, OSB and hardboard is facilitated. A compressed air impulse in the middle of the suction chamber prevents the suction of several workpieces lying on top of each other. The transport vacuum is built up in the outer area of the suction plates.

These seals are optionally available in NBR grey (nitrile butadiene rubber) or silicone.

The application range of the NBR seals is between -40˚C to +120˚C. They are very resistant to abrasion and have good resistance to oils. The application range of silicone seals is between -40˚C to 200˚C. They have a high elasticity and are particularly low in impressions.

Double suction plate AL 80x60SP (80x600 mm)

This suction plate made of black-grey EPDM material has been specially developed for swollen and curved sawn timber. During storage the still damp wood swells and shrinks and forms a curvature. This wood can no longer be sucked in with simple suction plates. For this purpose, AERO-LIFT Vakuumtechnik has developed two narrow, pendulum suspended suction plates which adapt optimally to the surface of the deformed sawn timber. EPDM (ethylene-propylene rubber) has a temperature resistance of approx. 150 ˚C in continuous use. It is suitable for high dynamic loads and has good abrasion resistance.

The bellows suction cup AL 48 with 2.5 folds, Ø 48 mm

The bellows suction cup made of white silicone rubber has a closed suction surface with 4 holes for vacuum suction. The bellows suction cup adapts optimally to the workpiece, preventing deformation. It is suitable for thin workpieces such as decorative strips on woodworking plants or for paper, foil or other fine decorative surfaces.
